Summer School on Flux Measurement Techniques: Methods, Sensors, Databases and Modeling
COST Action ES0804 organized a Summer School in collaboration with COST Action FP0903. The school was held from 11 to 20 September 2011, at Tuczno Castel, Poland (http://www.zamek-tuczno.pl). This ten day summer school consisted of lectures/exercises (4 to 8 hours per day), common measurements at Tuczno forest site, and visits to Rzecin Wetland site and Brody agriculture site. The results of a questionnaire circulated among the students after the School and nice pictures 1 2 3 suggest that the event was very successful. You may also have a look at this short movie (in Polish!).
Our course addressed several topics related to flux measurement techniques: eddy covariance technique, database and eddy data post-processing, relaxed eddy accumulation technique, disjunct eddy covariance technique, soil profile measurements, chambers measurements, air profile measurements and modeling.
All lecture/exercises were prepared and given by members of the Management Committees of the COST Actions ES0804 and FP0903 and by invited experts:
Timo Vesala -University of Helsinki, Ivan Mammarella - University of Helsinki, Dario Papale - University of. Tuscia, Risto Taipale - Research Centre Jülich, Jukka Pumpanen - University of Helsinki, Meelis Mölder - Lund University, Werner Eugster - ETH Zurich, Christian Bernhofer – University of. Dresden, Janusz Olejnik Poznan University of Life Sciences, Loris Vescovo, FEM Italy (COST Action ES0903).
The cost of the summer school was about 700 Euro per trainee (excluding travel costs). We had 45 trainees. FP0903 supported 7 of them.
The deadline for application was May 1st. The applicants were informed about the results by May 31.
